Remote Teaching

For those who wish to teach at their home institutions, we have a "remote teaching" (telepresence) room. This room makes it possible to teach and interact with the remote site almost as easily as if you were in the same room. Facilities include a projector, videoconferencing equipment, a blackboard, and network ports.

General Information & Printing

The KITP computing environment is based primarily on Mac OS X. Visitors can be supplied with their own desktop machine, including  most commonly used software. If you plan to bring a laptop, be sure to read our laptop policy. Information for configuring your laptop is available for most standard platforms. To setup your laptop for printing at the KITP, please visit our PRINTING PAGE.

Laptops

The KITP encourages visitors to bring their laptops since they are generally a great aid in accomplishing computing tasks. It should be noted however, that while the KITP computing staff will provide the requisite information to make minor configuration changes needed to make laptops work within this environment, we do not support visitors' laptops. Before leaving your home institution, you should ensure that your laptop has all the required software and is appropriately configured.
