To set up your Mac OS X laptop for use on the KITP ethernet network, follow these steps (version 10.3):

1. From the Apple menu at the top left hand corner of the screen, choose System Preferences.
2. Click on the Network button.
3. Click on the Ethernet listing and click the Configure button, or choose Ethernet from the Show popup menu.

4. Click on the TCP/IP tab and fill it out like like this.
6. When finished, click the Apply Now button at the bottom right.
7. Your settings should become active immediately.

To set up your Mac OS X laptop for use on the KITP wireless network, follow these steps (version 10.3):

1. Send your wireless MAC address to the computing help desk.

2. Follow the same instructions as above, but instead of choosing Ethernet, choose Airport.

3. For the network name, fill out orb all lowercase.  Please call x7340 to request the password.

 
To set your Mac OS 9 laptop up for use on the KITP ethernet network, follow these steps:

1. From the Apple menu at the top left hand corner of the screen, choose Control Panel -> TCP/IP.
2. In the window that pops up, choose Ethernet from the Connect Via popup menu.
3. From the Configure popup menu, choose Using DHCP.

4. Close the window. If the settings don't work, try rebooting your computer.
