"The very opportunity to hear, see, and respond to such a presentation (in person) is not only informative, but stimulating and invigorating. It sends a message to me (and my colleagues) that what we are doing IS important – important enough to merit recognition from the leading players in the field…that I have been invited to attend such a meeting…gives me a motivational boost and a credibility that makes me feel that I AM contributing…to this field of science. I also believe that inculcating such an attitude in secondary teacher ‘in the field’ has a ‘trickle-down effect’ whose impact will only be evident years from now in the students we see."
