If you are coming for less than three workweeks (< 17 days), you will generally be expected to use a hotel or similar facility for local lodging.     

For visits of 7 days or longer, Extended StayAmerica and West Cottages, offer economical rates far below full-service motels but with cooking and  laundry facilities.  Some of the full-service motels below offer discounts for stays of 7 days or more off-season. 

Visitors are asked to make their own hotel reservations due to the need to guarantee these reservations with a credit card. On the other hand, if you should experience difficulty getting a reservation for your specific visit dates, please send a note to speakers for assistance.

It is usually best to call the local (805) number for these hotels, rather than use an (800) number or a reservation website. Calling the local number will enable you to get more accurate information about UCSB/KITP discounts, and about availability for your dates.

Local hotel prices and terms are subject to change without notice.  N.B.: With nearly all local motels, there are some dates during the year (such as UCSB graduation weekend in June or during Old Spanish Days festival in August) when rates may be substantially higher.
