Housing information specific to this program.

Option One:

A block of rooms has been set aside for the use of our program participants at The Best Western South Coast Inn in Goleta, California—about 2-1/2 miles from the UCSB Campus.

The hotel offers special rates to our participants -- approximately $126.50 per night (tax included), single or double. You should contact the hotel directly at 1 (800) 350-3614 or 1 (805) 967-3200 to make your reservation. Mention the "NUMREL08" group to receive the special rate.

Lodging must be reserved by December 9 , 2007. After that date rooms MAY BE available to you on a space available basis at their regular rate. The Santa Barbara area has a large tourist population at all times of the year, and it is important that you make your reservations early. More information about the Best Western South Coast Inn is available on our local hotel site.

Please Note: If you are traveling from overseas and need to make a hotel reservation at the Best Western South Coast Inn, please e-mail the Sales Director at: sales at santa-barbara-hotel.com. Mention the group you will be with (NUMREL08) to be given your discount.

Option Two:

If you are interested in staying on campus, you may want to consider staying at the Faculty Club.

Do note that, they have only 6 rooms, and if you have a car, you will need to pay for parking on campus.

Option Three:

If neither of the other options will work for you, please check the local hotel information. If you elect to stay in another local hotel do identify yourself at a KITP visitor as discounted rates are available in some instances. Both the Best Western South Coast Inn and the Ramada Limited provide free transportation to the campus.

Extended StayAmerica has studio apartments with excellent weekly rates.  As of 5/30, the rate for 7 days or longer was $89.29+tax per night after KITP discount.

      • NOTE: Parking permits are now required at all times. Please check Pay By Space for information.
If you plan on driving to campus, please be aware that daily parking rates can be costly, $8.00 per day. If the daily option is appropriate for your stay, you will need to drive to Parking Services to purchase a one-day permit. For longer stays, you may want to purchase a long-term parking permit at a more economical rate of $56.00 per month. Be sure to identify yourself as "a KITP visitor/faculty member" to obtain the academic permit eligibility status. The staff can give you a map and directions to park in the Lot 10 structure. Permits are required Monday-Sunday 7:30am-10:00pm and can also be purchased from the parking lot pay machines after business hours (8am-5pm, M-F) when the Parking Services office is closed.
