The KITP is pleased to offer a special opportunity for up to 35 teachers attending the Teacher's Conference on Sunday, May 17, 2009. Las Cumbres Observatory Global Telescope Network will offer a day of training that will equip teachers to use the LCOGTN telescopes to assist in research based learning activities.

Teachers will use computer software to learn how to plan and carryout an observing session and analyze data. Some activities may include measuring the brightness of an object, plotting light curves, finding new and moving objects, and creating a color image. Opportunities to discuss possibilities on how to use research in the classroom will be provided throughout the day. You may bring your own laptop or some will be provided for use during the session.

The event will be held at the South Coast Inn in the Enterprise room beginning at 9am and finishing at 4pm. Lunch will be provided.

Space is limited to 35 participants. In order to participate, you must register by email to Jocelyn by May 1. We will notify you as soon as possible regarding your acceptance.
