Santa Barbara Advanced School of QBio - Summer Course Application

Application Deadline: March 12, 2017

This interdisciplinary course is open to postdocs and advanced graduate students with Physical, Mathematical or Life Science or Engineering backgrounds. Prior experience in the subject of the course is not necessary, but demonstrated scholastic excellence and research experience will be preferred. Applicants are requested to provide (via an online form) a CV/publication list plus a "personal statement" letter explaining i) why they are interested in the course and how they expect to benefit from it; ii) their preparation for the course. Applicants must also ask their research advisor to furnish a letter of recommendation by uploading electronically at http://www.kitp.ucsb.edu/qbio-recommendation-letter. Admission letters will be sent by April 1, 2017.

Course Description

Fees

  • There is no tuition/registration fee
  • Lodging and 14-meal plan $2000. Lodging will be in the Manzanita Village student apartments on the UCSB campus. Each room has a double bedroom and a bathroom shared with 3-4 other participants. Single rooms are available for an additional $650.  A late fee of $100 will charged for payments submitted after July 1.

*A limited number of fellowships and travel grants will be available for cases of demonstrated need.
