HIGH SCHOOL PHYSICS ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS

The KITP hosts a one-day Teachers’ Conference each year, held in conjunction with an on-going program designed to introduce high school science teachers to the latest discoveries and ideas in frontier areas of science. Leading scientists describe recent research and interact informally with the teachers. Some financial aid is available, and winning course presentations submitted by participants are recognized with the Simon and Diana Raab Prizes.
A new Postdoc Enrichment Program provides opportunities for KITP postdocs to make presentations in local high school physics classes, and to contribute to programs for teens in local science museum programs, such as the Quasars to Stars program at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History.
