The universe is full of stars that do much more than just twinkle--life on Earth relies on the warmth of our nearest star. If all we see of them is their light, how do we learn about the lives and deaths of stars? Over decades, astronomers have used ground-based and satellite-based telescopes as well as computer programs to build our modern picture of stellar evolution and to understand the internal structure of stars, including our own Sun. Join us at SOHO to hear about some of the most surprising discoveries in the history of stellar astrophysics, and how those discoveries were made.
