The Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation has awarded $1.5M to support independent post-PhD researchers at the KITP studying emergent quantum phenomena in materials. This is part of the Foundations's larger initiative in Emergent Phenomena in Quantum Systems (EPiQS). These new scholars will spend up to three years at the KITP as independent researchers participating in the diverse local research efforts and the activities of the institute. We are excited to collaborate with the Moore Foundation on this area, which is a traditional area of strength at the KITP and UCSB. Interested individuals can find more information on the application process.
