Jamming and Rheology: Constrained Dynamics on Microscopic and Macroscopic Scales
Coordinators: Sam Edwards, Andrea J. Liu, Sidney Robert Nagel, Mark Owen Robbins
Glassy dynamics occurs on all scales - from motion on microscopic, atomic, scales to the motion of macroscopic objects. Improvements in experimental techniques have enabled
qualitative advances in disparate fields, ranging from structural glasses, through spin-glasses, to foams and granular materials. The program was devoted to developing a
coherent conceptual framework within which all these systems can be understood.
