Café KITP: Music of the Spheres

The Secret Songs of Stars
Monday, March 24, 2014

A starry night sky has a knack for making us speechless, but dumb awe just isn’t enough for astrophysicist Matteo Cantiello of the Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics. Don’t miss a great opportunity to find out astonishing stuff about those night lights in a kickoff event for what will become an ongoing science café series sponsored by KITP. Over happy-hour food and libations at SOhO (1221 State Street, upstairs), join Matteo from 5:30 to 7:30 pm in an expansive discussion about hidden messages in starlight that reveal how stars live and die, and that even tell us about other distant planets, perhaps with their own inquisitive beings wondering if they are alone in the universe.
