Emeritus Professor Joe Polchinski passed away on Friday, February 2, 2018.
Joe was a brilliant and inspiring theoretical physicist and a gracious and generous colleague here at KITP and UCSB. He mentored generations of physicists and leaves a remarkable imprint on all of theoretical physics. Our thoughts are with his wife, Dorothy, and two sons, Steven and Daniel.
