Order from Chaos

Coordinators: Xiao-Liang Qi, Subir Sachdev, Stephen Shenker, and Douglas Stanford

Theorists working on black holes, strongly correlated systems and quantum chaos face a common challenge in trying to understand the dynamics of complicated quantum many-body systems. Recent progress in holography and solvable model systems has shed new light on some of these questions, but challenges remain. The purpose of this conference is to bring together a diverse group of researchers actively working on these subjects.

We expect that the conference will include discussions of (i) lessons, extensions and puzzles from the SYK model (ii) quantum aspects of black holes and holography (iii) quantum chaos and applications in condensed matter systems.

PLEASE NOTE: During the conference there will be an opportunity to present a poster. If you are interested in presenting a poster please visit the conference website and submit your title and abstract. Each poster board is 4 feet high x 6 feet wide. We ask that the posters be no larger than 44 inches high x 34 inches wide at the most.
