Classical and Quantum Physics of Strong Gravitational Fields

Over the past few years, a number of ideas have been developed independently in classical relativity, computational physics, non-perturbative quantum gravity, and mathematics, all of which have a deep bearing on the physics of strong gravitational fields. This program brought together experts in all four areas to work together to improve our understanding of spacetime singularities, the formation of black holes, and the microscopic structure of spacetime.
