Image or Logo for your Activity

We would like to have an image associated with your program (and conference, if relevant) to use for the home page on our website.  If you look at the KITP home page, you will see that we feature 3 items (programs, news, or other activities) at a time and change the images frequently to highlight different activities. This image will also link to your program and/or conference’s home page (please visit www.kitp.ucsb.edu to see how your image would be used).

If you have an image that we can use that is in the public domain (or that you own) please send it to us using this form with the copyright information, where appropriate.

In order to post an image that has appeared in a publication, for example, in Science Magazine, Nature, or Physical Review, we need to obtain permission from the publisher, even though we may have the author's permission and even though we are not reproducing it for commercial purposes. In any case, we would like to (and often must) acknowledge the source of the image.  Please obtain the necessary permission and submit this together with the picture and the copyright information (e.g., ©2010 M. Smith.)  If KITP must request permission directly, please send us the required contact information.

Please note that most images you might find on the Internet are copyrighted and not appropriate for uploading to our web site without permission. If you did not create the image, or if you are unable or unwilling to verify its copyright status, do not upload the file. Also, in the cases of images where their owners have stipulated they be used for non-commercial purposes only, under new guidelines such images may no longer be uploaded into our web site except by the express permission of those owners.
