Astronomy 1 Syllabus

Reading Assignments

The reading assignments listed below are from Freedman and Kaufmann, UNIVERSE, 8th edition.

In order to get the most out of the lectures, you must read each assignment BEFORE the lecture.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Your instructor will not discuss each and every topic in the lecture --- only the ones that he feels will give you the most difficulty.

If a topic in the reading is not discussed in lecture, but is in the assigned reading, you are still responsible for knowing and understanding that topic!

NOTE: THIS IS INTENDED TO BE A ROUGH GUIDE TO THE COURSE, NOT SOMETHING CARVED IN STONE. IT IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE.
